Moving your body is important. And, if you’re just getting started, finding exercises that work for you is important. Eventually, those exercises that helped you get going won’t challenge you the way they once did.

Here are some common exercises included in many training programs with better choices to help you make progress once you’ve reached a plateau.

Good: Chest Press Machine
Better: Push-ups

Good: Leg Press
Better: Squats

Good: Just Stretching
Better: Adding Corrective Mobility and Activation

Good: Cardio
Better: Learning Proper Movement Mechanics and applying them to Complexes and Circuits

Good: Having a consistent routine
Better: Having a consistent routine with progressive resistance
