I am just “getting back into it”

This is probably one of the most common things I hear people say, and it is the motto for many individuals that never reach their potential. When it comes to nutrition and fitness you must be on task the vast majority of the time or else you will never achieve your goals. Unfortunately many individuals spend the majority of the time saying “I am just getting back into it,” or “I can’t wait to get back into it.” This is short form for not having the ability to consistently stick to and adapt a plan to achieve a goal. It is perfectly fine to take planned breaks in the action; however these should be intelligently calculated. Like the active part of the plan, recovery periods should be adhered to in order to maximize your chance of success. Simply put, if you want to succeed then then don’t “get out of it” to begin with.
