In my last series of blogs I addressed the pattern of pain and dysfunction that I call the Pain Loop. If you have read that article and have made the determination that you fall somewhere on that loop then Therapeutic Training is right for you. Therapeutic Training is the optimal way to break the loop and begin making strides towards improving your training and quality of life. Even if you do not fall somewhere on the loop Therapeutic Training will help to identify issues in their pre-stages, and help to prevent injuries and dysfunction from happening in the future.

In today’s culture many individuals seek a variety of treatments for pain management. Chiropractic, Massage Therapy, Pain Medication, Acupuncture, and Surgery are just some examples of popular treatment methods for pain. These are all multi-million, even billion dollar industries that are thriving in today’s world. While all of these methods have their place, the most effective treatment, Therapeutic Training, is often over looked. The reason just might be that training is not a “quick fix,” and takes hard work and dedication. Although all of these methods are valid forms of treatments, it is important to know that they are just tools, and none of them will identify and fix the root causes of pain and dysfunction completely on their own. Therapeutic training encompasses a wide variety of areas (many of which overlap with the treatment tools listed above) to address a person’s need on an individual basis.

Let’s be honest, how many individuals dealing with pain and dysfunction have truly taken the time to learn proper training to fix their weaknesses and imbalances that are the root of the problem? It takes a lot of time and determination to learn proper movement patterns and mechanics. There is no such thing as a “quick fix” when it comes to the body. There are treatments that temporarily improve symptoms, but without proper training to go along with it, the problem will continue to resurface and result in the same continued journey through the pain loop. Truly fixing weaknesses and imbalances is a lifelong commitment to training; however I promise to you that the juice is worth the squeeze.
