So the holidays are here, and it’s time to cook delicious food for yourself and family. Unfortunately most holiday dishes are not designed to support weight loss and body composition goals. Here are some recipe variations you can use to help maintain and continue to achieve success with your weight and body composition throughout the holiday season. I am not going to get into a ton of specifics on how to prepare the whole dish because all you have to do is search it on the internet and a million different specific recipes will pop up.

Use Cauliflower instead of potatoes for mashed potatoes
Use Almond flour for any recipe that calls for flour or bread crumbs
For a desert try a Low Carb Cheesecake (Google Almond Orgy Cheesecake)
Use Green Beans instead of pasta for any pasta recipe
When in doubt stick to dishes with only Meat, Green Veggies, and Spices for the recipe (Don’t use excess carbs just for the sake of carbs… Many dishes are just as tasty without the bread or pasta.)

Always remember to be creative; if you consciously make an effort, many recipes can be modified to be better for your body composition without compromising quality or taste.
