Although it seems as if the majority of people are trying to lose weight, what about the percentage of the population looking to add some t-shirt-busting size? This may seem easy, but for many people eating what is necessary on a consistent basis can be quite a challenge. Eating 4,000 or 5,000 calories a day can leave you despising food for a period of time. Luckily, I have an easy shake you can drink to make the job of consumption a little less tedious. 2-3 scoops of your favorite protein, 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive-oil, 4 tablespoons of heavy cream mixed with 8-12 ounces of water or milk (depending on your preference.) You are looking at a 1000 calorie shake that won’t fill you up and will ensure you will have room for that next meal. Some might be put off by the olive oil and heavy cream combo, but trust me, you barely taste it and it actually makes for a quite tasty shake. I like to also add a tablespoon of cinnamon in mine which can help with your insulin sensitivity (and also is pretty yummy.) The key to “bulking” successfully is to constantly keep your body in a nutrient and caloric surplus. Over-filling yourself one day, then taking a step back the next day by not eating as much, will simply not get the job done. Add in as many of these shakes per day to reach your caloric goal and you will be well on your way to putting on some mass. Other than just the calories you will be getting a load of protein and healthy omega-3 fats!
