1. Training Sessions Are Not Intense Enough

You have to push yourself in order to get your body to change and adapt. If you have limiting factors it is important to work with a doctor and a trainer to make sure you are still pushing yourself hard enough to be able to get results.

2. Mismanagement Of Carb Intake

When looking to either lose weight or gain mass, when and how you eat carbohydrates is one of the largest determining factors in your success. Just remember that simple carbs are our bodies preferred energy source. If you are trying to burn the stored fat in your body as energy, you will never be able to if you are always providing your body with its preferred source. On the other hand if you are trying to build, you need to provide yourself with quick efficient energy in order to allow other nutrients to be the building blocks for muscle.

3. Inconsistency

Design a program and a plan, and stick to them. Too often do I see someone changing their mind and switching their program every other day. Things simply take time, and real progress comes relatively slowly, not just a couple of weeks. You need to achieve a goal before you can switch goals. Once you have reached a certain level, then you may switch gears and attack some new goals. If you are doing this every week instead of every few months you can be certain that you won’t accomplish anything at all.

My initial goal was to lose weight and gain strength, 5 months..."
